Supporting Hull companies at Edinburgh Fringe
Previously the Middle Child Match Fund, for 2019, alongside partners Absolutely Cultured, Hull Truck Theatre and Back to Ours, we supported three other Hull theatre companies to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe, with financial support of £1,500 plus other in-kind support.
The three companies invited to take part in the Hull Takeover this year were The Herd, with Slime; The Roaring Girls with Beach Body Ready; and Just Club Theatre with Standing Too Close On Our Own in the Dark. Read more about the chosen companies.
The 2019 takeover followed the success of the 2017 event, in which five Hull companies were supported by Hull UK City of Culture in taking work to the city, with production support from the Hull Independent Producer, Helen Goodman, alongside promo activity from 150 volunteers who travelled to Edinburgh for the day.
