FIRST SHOW FUND

Funding and in-kind support to produce your first show

Making your first piece of work can be overwhelming enough without even considering the costs. That’s why each year our First Show Fund provides support to one new Hull company or individual to produce, market and record their first piece of work.

The fund covers a venue hire fee, script and marketing printing costs, professional filming, production photography and poster and flyer design. We will also provide a range of in-kind support, including rehearsal space plus time with each member of the core team, covering directing, producing, marketing and technical expertise.

The First Show Fund was crucial in our step up from graduates to professional theatre makers. It came at a time when we were paying for equipment, venue hire, accommodation and travel for the first time, so it was a real blessing. Paul’s creative mentorship and Jamie’s advice on marketing, alongside Middle Child’s constant support has been essential to our first show and vital in helping us to feel validated as a new company in and beyond Hull.
